WFPA Minutes – Special Meeting Saturday, 01-31-2009

A special meeting of the WFPA Board was requested by the Walker Fire Auxiliary (Formerly known as Workers of Walker)

The full Board met at 10:00 A.M. during the Pancake Breakfast. Attending:

Bob Nebermen, President

Dan Hauck, Vice President                             Chuck Bowers

Joe Lupa, Secretary                                        Carol Tocker

Tim McFarlan, Treasurer                                Mark Keegan

Bud Mellor, Fire Chief

John Horvat, Co Chair of WFA attending, requests $2,500 from the WFPA for permits and fees to the City of Prescott for a fundraiser at the Courthouse Plaza this July. The monies, if granted, are required before an upcoming ‘permitting’ deadline within the next several days.

This fundraiser has historically been held by the Williamson Valley Fire Department with great monetary return used to fund their Fire Fighting operation. Williamson Valley’s status is no longer a 501C3 so they are unable to continue the administration of hosting a Courthouse Plaza fundraiser. Williamson Valley, because of their experience in this area has asked WFPA to put up the required monies for permitting, fees and some advertising costs in a split profit venture.

A written resolution 13109 was read and discussed, effectively stating:

Authorization is given to the WFPA Treasurer to write funds to the WFA for purposes of securing permits, fees and some advertising costs for said fundraiser.

Further discussion was had and the resolution amended to read, in effect:

The 50/ 50 profit split will occur after the startup costs incurred by the WFPA/WFA are subtracted out and the WFA will have sole if not joint custody of the handling of the revenues.

A verbal vote was taken and resolution 13109 was passed with a yes vote by all Board members.

The retyped resolution will be signed by all Board members and recorded at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting February 14th, 2009.

Meeting adjourned 10:25 A.M.
